Like Minded Folk By Joseph Parish Many people have asked me over the last several years about getting a group of like minded people together just in cases one of our worse case scenarios come to past. To this I can only say that I would put the feelers out and see what I get back. Several times I have been asked to do something which would effectively involve a group and several times I have simply receive3d no response back. I don’t know if people are shy or what however, we really need to know who is who in our area just in case. By creating some what of a semi-formal group we can each find out what our downfalls would be under actual situations. We would see what areas we need to improve upon. And in the end it just might be a lot of fun. An established group could plan to have regularly scheduled bug out events, perhaps a community garden for those that do not have the needed space as well as other fun things that us survivalists could come up with. Let’s face it there is definitely a decline in our current economy and you must believe its happening or you would not be reading this article. This decline is not only happening but the rate at which it is occurring has been rapidly increasing as of late. Our country is slowly entering a self-destruct mode and we need to prepare ourselves and our families for the inevitable. Over a period of time I have invested a considerable sum of money in both equipment and supplies in order to provide for my family during these upcoming times. I have several acquaintances some of which I would even call my friends around the area that are of equal minded about the needs of preparedness but in many cases they are unable or unwilling to make the necessary sacrifice to complete their preps. I for one believe that there are actually safety in numbers and I personally do not cherish the thought of being alone when TSHTF. We would stand a much better chance for survival as an organized group. What I would like to propose is that we agree to meet for an evening meal somewhere and get to know each other. From there we will let nature take over and consider our actual goals. This "getting to meet you" event could be the start of a long and successful cooperative venture. Copyright @ 2009 Joseph Parish
