Wal-Mart worker dies in Black Friday Rush By Joseph Parish I have been watching with interest the story on the television concerning the 34 year old Wal-mart employee who was killed while unlocking the Wal-Mart's door. This unruly crowd even managed to rip one of the large store doors off its foundation and out of the wall. It appears the person was knocked down by a stampede of storming shoppers trying to get a bargain on things they probably did not need in the first place. This unfortunate person was trampled upon by hundreds of people as they rushed past to grab the black Friday sales. In addition to the guy who was trampled to death, several other store employees and a couple of cops got minor injuries from being shoved out of the way by the crowd. These types of violent deaths in the stores clearly show us what utter chaos can result during various panic moments. Imagine for a moment if this were an emergency situation and the it was time for the SHTF. Now suppose that the items in question were not useless presents in the store but rather they were actually important life saving supplies such as fuel, food, or other staples that were in very short supply. This scenario should serve as a warning to us that the preparation for emergencies, shortages and disasters should be taking place NOW. A bit of foresight on our part can help keep us out of this particular kind of stupidity. An interesting note here is that you could easily have gone grocery shopping on Black Friday as those types of stores were not as crowded nor were they the mad house that the department store had become. My recommendation is we must be prepared for situations such as this. Get ready ahead of time and you and your family can be afforded a measure of safety. Copyright @2008 Joseph Parish
