Got Gas?

We all have been amaze recently as the price of this commodity has slowly been decreasing. Now that gas has reached some pretty low prices ($2.02 in some places) it would be a good time to possibly store some up. I recommend storing at least five gallons. Do not purchase a five gallon can though but rather obtain two 2.5 cans instead. If you have ever done it you will readily admit that it is very difficult to fill your car from a five gallon can. It takes too long and the can is extremely heavy.

Make sure that you rotate your gas storage at least every six months. When it is time to fill you car you should use your stored gas first and then take the empty can and refill it. Never allow the tanks on your car to drop below the half tank mark. You certainly do not want to be one of the poor saps who end up waiting in a gas line for hours to fill up when an emergency arises.

I personally have six 2.5 gallon cans, one 5 gallon can and one 2 gallon can with oil mixed in for any of my two stroke tools. You should never store the gas in your car. This is for obvious reasons. Store your gas in a cool place where prying eyes can’t see it. I have lost countless gallons of gas due to theft. If you have a truck make sure and keep at least one can with you. I have used it a few times for myself but mostly it has been used to help people who are stuck on the side of the road with an empty gas tank.
