Homemade Rat Poison

As you can imagine when the SHTF rats can become a major problem facing every section of our society. Many people even today experience problems associated with these large rodents. People tend to keep cats and other animals as pets and really hate to risk the chances of using a commercial rat poison. They would simply be devastated if their favorite kitty ended up eating the product.

To create a safe rat poison I would recommend taking peanut butter and mixing it with some  baking soda. This combination will create gas in the rats' intestines and due to the fact that they can neither burp nor fart it will eventually kill them. It is hard to say exactly how fast the effect will dispose of them but it will eventual be their downfall.

This mixture is not dangerous to anything except the rodents. It has used over a period of 6 years on several farms that I know which had a thriving community of pack rats. Several times each year the farmer would break apart their nests in order to collect various child's toys, bits of rope, etc which these rats had collected. The farmer placed some of this creation in his barn each fall in order to control the rat population. For the last several years he has seen no nests and has seen only one rat. This is a very drastic change from previous years.

So, I would venture to say that  the peanut butter and baking soda mixture  works very well for disposing of rodents and can be safely used if you start discovering signs of rats or mice.
