A Super-Duper First Aid Kit
By Joseph Parish
Someone recently asked me about the possibility of
highlighting a “Super-Duper” first aid kit. Well it seems
like you really can not purchase one unless you are
willing to expend a considerable amount of money for a
semi-professional EMT version.
What we are going to attempt to do here is to continually
add to our list of first aid supplies until we can go no
further. A secondary advantage of creating our first aid
kit like this is that you are afforded the opportunity to
build it up slowly without damaging the family budget. So
without further ado we will get started at this time.
Week of 24 August 2008 1 pair of
quality tweezers for splinter removal
3 safety pins
1 rolls of Duct tape
1 small package of towelettes
3 tubes of antibiotic ointment
1 tincture of benzoin
3 butterfly closure bandages
4 3x3 Sterile dressings
4 2x2 sterile dressings
2 3x4 Non-adherent sterile dressings
1 conforming gauze bandage
4 1x3 adhesive bandage
3 knuckle adhesive bandage
1 tape (1/2" x 10 yard)
1 elastic bandage
1 Moleskin
2 plastic disposable gloves
8 Motrin
2 antihistamines
2 Bite-sting relief ointments
We will add to this list next week. Remember these are
the minimum amounts of items – you could increase them as
you see fit.
