What to bring camping By Kristopher B. Parish
If your a child you should bring a coloring book that you can color in. Bring some toys that you really like to play with - nothing large, just some toy cars and other little accessories. If you’re an adult then bring a laptop. Make sure you always have a cell phone on you so if you get lost you can call somebody to find you. Something I would bring is AA batteries, because you can use AA batteries for almost every thing you use. Another thing you should bring is extra clothing, nothing new but old clothing so if you get them dirty you don't have to worry about stains. If you were to wear something new that is white they have a spray for clothing. I would get it from your local store like Wal-Mart. Another thing to have is Germ-X to put on your hands. If your kids have been playing out side and there's not a sink that's when Germ-X comes in handy. What to do if you got lost: Something I would do if I got lost is look at a compass and go where I need to go. Another thing to do is to use what you know about survival and get back to where you are camping. If you where lost use your cell phone to call a parent or a ranger to get back. Make sure when you get back with the person in charge you tell them you are okay. These are some tips on what you should do if you get lost in the woods. We all know how getting hurt is part of life; well I’m going to give you tips on what to do if you get a cut. First thing to do is to go to the nearest pond or stream and rinse out the cut. After you do that tear off some old clothing material and wrap it around the cut tightly. Tie it so that it will not get any more infected than it already is. Once you get done tying it run back to the campsite as fast but safely as possible. You don't want to get hurt more than you already are. After you make it back safe go get a band aid so that your cut can heal. Now for all you kids out there waiting to hear about fun stuff to do while you are camping this is your part to read. You could color in a coloring book. Or if you like fishing with your dad on a boat make sure you wear a life vest. If you have a brother or sister and you both have bikes ask him or her if they would like to go bike riding. I know we all like marshmallows. Ask your parents if you all could maybe roast marshmallows and tell scary stories. That's
all I have for now will talk to you next time when we
talk about safety. Copyright @ 2009 Kristopher Parish
