Chemical Reaction Bomb Goes Off in
Cambridge School
CAMBRIDGE, Md. - The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office
say one person was hospitalized after a chemical reaction
bomb went off in a Cambridge school on Friday night.
According to investigators, someone manufactured, and
placed a chemical reaction bomb at the rear exit hallway
near the auditorium at the Cambridge South Dorchester
High School.
Authorities say the device then exploded and filled the
immediate area with debris and chemicals. A female adult
occupant of the school was treated and released at
Dorchester General Hospital for inhalation of the
chemicals after the device exploded.
The school was closed at the time of the incident but was
being used for drama class practice, authorities say.
