Can One Nuclear Weapon Cripple America?
Between Russia, China, and the Islamic Extremists America
has her fair share of potential problems. An ever growing
threat, that has the potential to totally cripple the
U.S., comes from the after effects of a nuclear
detonation called EMP.
EMP stands for electromagnetic pulse and it is generated
when a nuclear weapon is detonated in space.
During an EMP attack the missile would be sent into space
approx. 300 miles above the targeted area and detonated.
The explosion would send waves of electromagnetic pulses
that would permanently destroy consumer electronics, the
electronics in some automobiles, and knock out the large
transformers that distribute power throughout the U.S.
This lack of power would cripple our economy. All lights,
refrigerators, water pumping stations, TVs and radio
stations would shut down. We would lose our ability to
communicate and to provide basic essentials such as food
and water. With a population of just about 30o million
this would be a nightmare.
Losing all forms of the basic infrastructure our society
would quickly collapse as the people would panic from the
loss of normalcy in their lives. On a national level,
America must develop a missile defense system that
incorporates space based interceptors that can identify
and neutralize the missiles before they detonate. The
technology is there. The political will may not be.
President Elect Obama has clearly stated that he will not
weaponize space. Americans must realize that this threat
to our nation is real and our enemies possess not only
the ability to harm us but the political will as well.
Citizens should continue prepping and realize that you
will be on your own should this worst case scenario ever
come to be.
