Eruptions Movie" Yellowstone sits on top of the caldera of one of the

Emergency Shelters" By Joseph Parish. Often people complain that they can not
take their animals into emergency shelters. As many persons become displaced
from their homes during times of crisis and they are relocated in evacuation
centers one of their major gripes is not being able to bring their pets with

February 28, 2009 - "Ramblings on gates and
limiting access" Here is a great article on limiting access to
secure your immediate area. Many criminals simply drive around the
neighborhood and look for an easy mark. I have studied
break ins in my AO and have noticed that the places
that limit the getaway car from being able to pull up
to the front door and load up the goodies were usually
safe. I have advised neighbors to do such and some have
taken my advice, some have ignored it and others only
understood 'half' of what I recommended.

drive down the highway and make a mental note of one of the cargo roof top
carrier which appears on many of the vehicles that we pass. At once we start to

Week Begins" By Joseph Parish. It is that time of the year again! Around the
nation many of our cities and states are making the necessary preparations to
launch the severe weather week. Sever weather can strike just about any location
in our nation and does so usually without warning of any sort. It is not
restricted to the southern portion of our country or to the Midwest. We can at
any time encounter hurricanes, tornados, flooding and a host of other
inflections from mother nature without so much as a simple warning.

Capabilities" By Joseph Parish. One of the foremost questions that many people
ask is what they can do about obtaining valuable information and communicating
with other people during times of crisis. Let’s face it our cell phones may not
be much use to us after the emergency generators that operate the cell phone
towers run out of fuel and are effectively dead.

By Massad Ayoob. Can you use lethal force in self-defense against a rapist? The
answer, of course, is yes. Deadly force is permissible only in a situation of
"immediate, otherwise unavoidable danger of death or great bodily harm." No
victim of rape has ever submitted unless the attacker clearly or implicitly gave
her (or, sometimes, him) the choice of compliance or "immediate, otherwise
unavoidable danger of death or great bodily harm." These concepts mesh rather

difference between short term and long term food storage? By Joseph Parish. When
sitting among the various survival groups you often hear it said that someone is
storing this or that for their short term storage and this and that for their
long term storage. This is actually utter nonsense as the only difference in the
short and the long term storage should be the quantity of products that are
being stored.

enough to locate one of the Reynolds’s Handi-vac systems in our local Wal-Mart
department store. It was not a costly item and so I decided to pay my ten

February 19, 2009 - "Storage of oil
used for cooking" By Joseph Parish. It wasn’t too many years ago that I was
employed at a local oil refinery. Not the kind of refinery which processed crude
oil into oil which is used in our vehicles but rather the kind of refinery which
makes cooking oil. This particular refinery specialized in soybean oil. My job
there was to ensure that the product that was being made was top quality and
completely fit for human consumption.

crisis makes Bugging out Difficult" By Joseph Parish. Our current financial
struggle here in America is on the verge of making an emergency bug out
difficult at best. Predictions have been revealed that state our workforce will
be at just about a stand still by the end of 2009. In short there simply are not
enough jobs for the people. Ninety-five percent of our nation's metropolitan
cities will have far fewer job positions available as the year ends than those
that they had at the beginning of the year.

have some sort of way that we can preserve the food. Many times you will hear
survivalists saying how they have placed five oxygen packets in their 5 gallon
bucket in order to preserve their wheat or flour. Well, this is all well and
good but using the oxygen packets is not the only way to preserve your food. In
this article I am going to briefly explain to you how you can use dry ice to
accomplish the same thing.

several years now I had started obtaining the five gallon icing buckets which

crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of
conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his
ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.

more with my country then someone who was raised in some foreign nation that is
notably unfriendly to the US. With Obama’s recent idea to appease the liberal
elements within our society as well as the Muslim fraction it did not take him
long to close the gates to Cuba's Guantanamo Bay detention facility. He was
quick to issue orders to close this jail area down however he failed to consider
where he would place the 250 terrorist suspects after he does so.

at many specialty restaurants, in particular those which served oriental style
