unlocking the Wal-Mart's door. This unruly crowd even managed to rip one of the
large store doors off its foundation and out of the wall. This unfortunate
situation may be a warning to us.

NOTICE
It appears that once again we have been provided
mis-information. Thanks to our reader Matthew it has been discovered. It appears
that Matthew has watched the video about the marines training for martial law in
Swansboro, NC. Although he states that the video could very well be real however
he was a bit concerned about some of the items that the narrator said. Matthew
goes on to state that "Some of the things the narrator (which I assume is Alex
Jones from the website infowars.com) said or didn't say during the video. He
admitted at the start that the video was sent to him by a listener (I'm assuming
he means a listener to his radio show) so he wasn't there personally to verify
the things he said. First, Swansboro is directly adjacent to Camp Lejeune so its
not surprising that the town had no problems with the marines training there.
I'd wouldn't be surprised if a large number of military personnel lived in
Swansboro. Second, with regard to the searching of cars, as far as I know there
are absolutely no laws that would allow the military to do that and one (posse
comitatus) that actually prevents them from acting as a police force within the
USA. And since this video was shot before 9/11 the patriot act and any other
laws that might let do that hadn't been put in place yet. According to an
article I found on World Net Daily (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=435)
the 2 guys sitting on the ground were probably role players hired by the marines
just for training purposes and this actually fits with other training exercises
like this that I've heard about. Also, if you look its the same car throughout
the video. Once again we are in gratitude to Matthews quick eye at discovering
this deception and appreciate his efforts. Keep up the good work Matthew.
November 25, 2008 - "Long-Term Storage
Methods For Dry Foods" These are storage methods for longer than 5 years. To
prepare dry (10% or less moisture) food for long-term storage, oxygen should be
removed from or replaced in containers. There are four kinds of containers that
can be used. These will be discussed in this article.

NOTICE
Just a quick note here to let everyone know that I received an email from a
visitor named Matthew concerning the video with representative John Haller in
it. It appears that there really is not John Haller from PA and the video is not
from CNN. The video is a fake. Matthew states that if you look closely the logo
in the corner isn't a C-span logo. The C has been replaced with a stylized
onion. The video was originally posted on The Onion website on Oct. 11, 2007.
The Onion is known for making satirical "news" stories like this. Our thanks to
Matthew for his observant eye on this and I apologize to our visitors for my
oversight.

November 20, 2008 - "Various types of Bug out
Bags" There are many different types of emergencies and each of them may require
diverse types of bug out bags. The reason for the various bags is that often you
must size up the situations and determine what would be necessary in the way of
survival equipment. An example would be if your vehicle were to break down and
you find it necessary to walk to your destination you would need a different
type of bag as opposed to a situation where you would be at a fixed location.

one can say for sure that salt is blameless, it is obvious that the way salt
works and its effects is still not fully understood.
